Certificate of Accounting Principles

The objective of this subject are to provide more theory and practice on accounting principle and focus on Accounting for Investing and Financing Activities, Accounting for Partnership and Corporations, and analysis of Accounting Information. After completing, this course provide a unique opportunity for the students to learn basic internal controlled principles that are applied in a business situation, understand how the internal controlled system affects organizational behavior, and how it provides safeguards to ensure accurate and timely reporting.



The course also provides the common business practice of selling receivables that is covered rather than the obsolete note discounting treatment found in most beginning accounting notebooks. In addition, it provides the basis concepts related to accounting for bonds, a good understanding of debt and equity securities in the context of the new fair value requirements. Finally, it provides analytical tool and theory on Financial Statement in order to evaluate the business performance.

Certificate in Pedagogical Model & Strategy in TEFL

Course description:

The primary purpose of this course is to provide pre-service teachers with information and experiences that will help them develop and deliver effective instructional programs for students among secondary school (grades 7-9), high school (grades 10-12) and university. Major areas of content focus are the nature of the teaching/learning process, including research-based models of instruction, planning, classroom management, learning environments and motivation. Pre-service teachers will become familiar with and demonstrate evidence of the knowledge, skills, and dispositions for effective beginning teaching.



Student Learning Outcomes:

1. Pedagogical knowledge

Students demonstrate an understanding of the following:
  • Theories and principles of classroom management, including characteristics of effective/productive environments for learning. 
  • Theories and principles of instructional methodologies, with emphasis on practices related to effective classrooms
  • Realities and structures of the teaching profession.

2. Instructional Skills

Students will demonstrate a proficiency in the following areas:
  • Designing, planning, and implementing instruction
  • Writing instructional objectives
  • Lesson planning
  • Unit and course design
  • Designing and implementing classroom management plans that use effective classroom management strategies (maintaining a positive environment
  • Motivating students and fostering student learning
  • Modeling several methods of instruction
  • Recognizing individual differences of students and determining strategies to provide equitable instruction
  • Organizing and managing use of time for instructional and non-instructional tasks.

3. Attitudes (Teaching Dispositions)

Students will demonstrate an awareness of the following:
  • The value of establishing collaborative and cooperative relationships with students and peers
  • The necessity of continuing professional growth;

Materials and Curriculum Design and Development for English Language Teaching and Learning

This course is largely a “how-to-do-it” activity and so a large part of the course involves description of the curriculum and material design process, and the elaboration and justification of the process.
Curriculum and material design involves the integration of knowledge from many of the areas in the field of Applied Linguistics, such as language acquisition research, teaching methodology, assessment, language description and materials production.

The course organized the important issues in curriculum design, namely involving learners in curriculum and material design, choosing and modifying course books, innovation theory, retraining and helping teachers and learners make use of a course that is widely applicable for ESL/EFL language education courses around the world.

Negotiation Strategy

Negotiation is a basic way of getting what one party wants from another, it is an exchange of information through communication. The information exchanged is formulated as strategies and techniques. These strategies and techniques originate from the negotiation relationship between the parties, and they also serve to continue of discount the relationship. The purpose of this communication exchange is to reach agreement between parties who have certain things ill common while disagreeing on others.

This course explores the ways that people negotiate to create value and resolve disputes. It is designed to introduce negotiation theory and to build negotiation skills. The curriculum integrates negotiation research and experiential learning activities. Some of the exercises explore aspects of bargaining, value creation and distribution, the dynamics of coalitions, multi-party negotiations with a focus on organized preparation, dispute resolution, and process analysis. Students must demonstrate learning through both experiential activities and written assignments.

CMU Graduation Ceremony 2016

On 13th August 2016, Cambodian Mekong University held its 9th graduation ceremony at Sokha Hotel Phnom Penh presided by H.E. KEO REMY president of Cambodian Human Rights Committee. Graduating class of over 600 were composed of  CMU-SR and CMU-PP students plus lecturers, parents and honored guests attended. The ceremony went well with the smile of each of the graduates as they received their certificates. Photos with families, friends, and lecturers were taken to mark and commemorate this special event.

All graduates were invited to join the CMU Alumni Dinner Party in the evening. They had fun meeting their lecturers, professors, and friends and making new friends while having dinner and dancing.

CMU graduation ceremony marks the start of a new phase in the life of the new CMU graduates. It commemorates all the years of hard work and perseverance to finally finish and get the most coveted certificates. To the graduates of class 2016, in your new journey remember the value of education. Do not forget to teach and share to others what you have learned. Dissemination of Academic Information at Puok High School of Technical and General Education


February 23, 2018, 8:00 am to 11:30 am, Cambodian Mekong University team, led by Mr. No Channara, Deputy Director of Siem Reap Branch, disseminated academic information at the 2018 Job Fairs at Puok High School of Technical and General Education in Puok district, organized by Child’s Dream Cambodia.  

The program was attended by representatives of state organizations such as the Royal Gendarmerie of Siem Reap, the Department of Labor, Universities in Siem Reap, Angkor SilkAir Airline, and more than 400 high school students. The purpose of the exhibition is to advise high school students about job opportunities as well as the selection of academic skills in line with the current and future development of society.

Cambodian Mekong University provided information and counseling on the selection of specialist courses such as English Language skills, Management, Hotel Management and Tourism, Computer Skills, Courses and other Skills. It was noteworthy that most high school students had a question about choosing the skills appropriate to their chosen areas at high school, such as social or scientific sciences, based on their ability and hobbies, especially the curriculum of Cambodian Mekong University and scholarship information.

The program also provided opportunities for a number of organizations that directly contributed in this program to give their rewards to outstanding students or students who correctly answered questions about their institutions.

In the end, the Child’s Dream Cambodia offered a letter of appreciation to the participating institutions and enjoyed the lunch together with enthusiasm and friendship.

Korean Language Program

Course Description

Our Korean Language courses are designed for adult learners in a short-term training course and for those who want to learn more about Korea such as language, culture, and history.

 

The courses aim at improving students' communication skills in a short period of time by using the following methods:

  • Introduce the essential vocabulary, grammar and expressions for learners derived from everyday situations in real-life.
  • Vocabulary lists are categorized by meaning and part of speech to enable learners to acquire vocabulary and grammar systematically. 
  • Various tasks and activities are provided to enable learners to acquire the target grammar and apply it to practical situations. Through these challenging tasks and activities, learners are able to improve their communicative competence. 
  • Units are organized in consideration of class structure and learners.
  • The separate workbook helps learners to practice and organize what they have learned from the main textbook through exercises in grammar, vocabulary and expressions.

Japanese Language Program

Our Japanese Language Programs are specially designed for those who wish to learn more about Japan such as Language, Culture, and History. Students will be able to converse, interact, and work with Japanese companies in the future.

Currently we are offering 3 levels of Japanese as follows:

- Level 1 (Beginner) : E1: 5:00 -6:00 PM
- Level 2 (Pre-Intermediate) : M1: 7:00 – 8:00 AM,  M2: 8:00 – 9:00 AM
- Level 3 (Intermediate) : M3: 9.00 - 10.00 AM

Students can opt to study at any time offered from the above schedule. Students in Level 1 class will learn basic consonants up to practical conversation with our qualified teachers both Japanese and Khmer.
